Venice

Took a while to get from the ship into Venice, but once we did, our first adventure was a trip down the Grand Canal narrated by a Rick Steves audio tour. Really nice views of Venice (obviously) and nice to have the narration.

Cuttlefish in it's ink and sardines and onions, two typical Venetian dishes for lunch.

Things complicated by the regatta happening today and closing the Grand Canal for four hours, plus extra crowds. Nevertheless managed to walk to the meeting point for and interesting walking tour mostly of the Jewish ghetto (the original one that gives us the word). Gelato fortified use to make our way back to the ship.

Barcelona - Granada

Travel day spent on the train, so not much to say about that. Nice countryside that looks a lot like California. However, our hotel is formed by two small Mudejar buildings built in the first third of the sixteenth century. Very cool, though the room presents a few challenges. Photo shows part of the lobby (originally a courtyard of one of the houses). Delicious dinner of salmon in some kind of orange sauce.
